Daria Strokous fronts the latest Jil Sander Fall 2011 ad campaign alongside Belgian upstart Guerrino Santulliana. Daria Strokous also appeared in the Jil Sander Spring/Summer 2011 ad campaign earlier this year while Guerrino Santulliana walked in the label’s Spring/Summer 2012 show at the recently concluded Mens Fashion Week in Milan. Creative direction by Raf Simons and photographed by Willy Vanderperre, the ads were simple, minimalist, typical Jil Sander style.
Here’s a look back at what happened in February. Daria Strokous opens.
Inspired by Louise Dahl-Wolfe mid-century images of couture photographed in ski resorts and the photography of Diane Arbus, the cocoon silhouette, formless and loose, was predominant. This is one silhouette that will be sticking around for another season. Shoes were inspired by the work of Jacques Adnet. The skiwear element was also present in stirrup pants tucked into wedges that scream simple and chic. A hint of couture with Jil Sander’s oh-so-clean palette, Raf Simons has outdone himself again. Here is a look at the makeup, shoes and bags.
