This was what I wore to the Future Fashion Now showcase held at W.E. Workshop Element a couple of weeks ago and to my surprise, Charlene from Shentonista came up to ask for a photo seconds after I just got there. Founder of Shentonista, Darren joined us outside soon after for more photos as we chatted.
While I have heard of Shentonista and read it occasionally, I haven’t exactly got a clue about who they were until that day; and it was very much a pleasant experience amid overcast skies. What I like about Shentonista are the well-taken photos and the ever so descriptive text to go along with it, and they post every day. That’s 365 stylish folks from Singapore a year!

P.S. That’s the contrast linen carrot pants I designed and made myself.
This was the outfit I wore when I attended the Gc Smart Luxury event held a couple of weeks ago, shot by Franz from lilreddotfolks in my first ever informal studio shoot. It was a Thursday and a drab week for me.
Nevertheless, a big thank you to the good people at Gc Watches for the watch; I chose the ever so classic Gc Slim Class 2-handed series in rose gold PVD and brown leather straps. It was the perfect colour combination for my skin tone and the perfect size for my tiny wrist.
“Smart Luxury is the signature and very essence of the Gc brand, the smart combination of the highest level of Swiss quality standards, timeless fashion and expressive design, all at an optimal price point, which gives to the wearer of a Gc timepiece the “feel good sensation” that they have made the right choice.”
This global concept is captured by a photographic concept called Moments of Luxury, that “focuses on emerging creative personalities from around the world, who are rising stars in their respective fields and embody the personality and characteristics of the Gc brand: ambitious, dynamic, self-assured and proud of their success.”
With that, I leave you with some fantastic imagery shot by Pino Gomes for Moments of Smart Luxury by Gc Watches. Do also check out the event video at the end of this post.

I recently got featured on lilreddotfolks, a local based streetstyle blog featuring the personal style of folks, on their own turf, from this lil red dot that is Singapore and hence the name. Shot by photographer duo Franz & Vinz, it was just me in my sartorial best. Credit to Franz & Vinz for taking and editing such beautiful photos.
But what really captured my attention was that it was the photographer duo that is Franz & Vinz behind lilreddotfolks. To my best knowledge there are not many right here in Singapore besides ChuanDo & Frey, probably best known for shooting Janet Jackson’s Discipline album cover and promotional images and are currently shooting for various local publications. Singapore’s very own Mert & Marcus or Inez & Vinoodh perhaps?

The T-shirt and jeans combo have been pretty much the uniform for your everyday guy here. It is amazing what a simple fitted t-shirt and a pair of slim-cut jeans can do wonders for this whole look.
Pick a t-shirt that fits -not too tight and not too baggy- that has interesting details or prints. In this case, my t-shirt has a bleached effect, quite subtle but not plain. If the proportion is just right, tuck it in to show your belt. Also, if you are going for a plain jersey t-shirt, you might want to throw in some accessories like a necklace to add a little detail there or you can take the focus away from that plain t-shirt by jazzing up other parts of your outfit be it your shoes, a cool bag or an interesting bottom. Here, my accessories run the gamut from necklace, cuffs to rings; for me it’s pretty much every outfit’s staple.
I would also like to stress the importance of a pair of good-looking shoes. Probably the most important aspect of the outfit for me. Let’s just say, it will make or break an outfit. Throw in a cool bag and you are good to go! And let me just say this: men/guys/boys can all work a clutch! Just work it if you dare, let them stare and judge for they do not know. Agree or no?
Here’s what I wore:
Uniqlo newsboy cap
Necklace, rings and cuffs from assorted places.
