Interview Magazine December 2012 / January 2013 presents a cool and largely black-and-white studio editorial shot by Patrick Demarchelier titled Simple. Who best to introduce this editorial to us than Karl Templer, who also styled this editorial.
“The big look-at-me fashion statement makes way for an edgy new postmodern take on classic clothes as all eyes are once again on the wearer. a refreshed graphic simplicity reinvigorates subconsciously familiar silhouettes worn with bare legs, unadorned faces, and youthful embellishments –and less of the fashion drama. It’s what feels right for right now.”
Beneath the bare and stripped-away photos lie an immaculate cast of models who have gained much steam at the recent Spring/Summer 2013 shows. And they are: Juliana Schurig, Magdalena Jasek, Pauline Hoarau, Ondria Hardin, Esther Heesch, Irene Hiemstra, Kayley Chabot, Stina Rapp Wastenson, and Tilda Lindstam. Check them out for Interview Magazine December 2012 / January 2013 below.
Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart both cover the Interview Magazine June/July 2012 edition in the wake of the release of their movie, Snow White and The Huntsman. Shot by Mikael Jansson and styled by Karl Templer, Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart wear the likes of Balenciaga, Dior, Dries Van Noten, Tom Ford, Maison Martin Margiela, Lanvin and Valentino among others in an editorial themed much similar to the mood of their movie. Kristen Stewart manages to look drab in a fashion editorial yet again while the ever captivating Charlize Theron takes centre stage.

25 year old musician Florence Welch appears yet on another cover, this time for Interview Magazine October 2011. Clearly taking the fashion world by storm; magazines aside she is the current muse for Frida Giannini’s Gucci and most recently performed for Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show. And it doesn’t stop there; Florence Welch also dons Valentino and Elie Saab couture for her band’s latest music video, Shake It Out, which you can view at the end of this post.
Shot by Craig McDean, the typography, the positioning of the masthead and Florence Welch make this cover quite different from the usual Interview Magazine cover aesthetic (they usually do close-ups). So is Florence Welch a budding fashion icon? Check out the Florence Welch for Interview Magazine October 2011 editorial below.
Anne Hathaway fronts the cover of Interview Magazine September 2011 in a veil; hard to recognise her at first glance. Shot in black and white by (yes you guessed right) Mert and Marcus, and styled by Karl Templer, the accompanying editorial spread in Interview Magazine September 2011 features Anne Hathaway very much like a vamp from the Victorian period. I actually quite like this Gothic setting. Check out the Anne Hathaway for Interview Magazine September 2011 spread below.
Marion Cotillard is the cover girl of the August issue of Interview magazine. Inside, an interview done by Nicole Kidman (say what?) who starred alongside her in last year’s musical-romantic film, Nine, and a 10-page spread of her in the most sensual of poses. She is styled by Karl Templer and shot by Mikael Jansson. This editorial is leaving me breathless. The sensuality of the poses and her beauty makes this shoot simply divine and done very tastefully too. Here are some of the pictures. Enjoy!
