Louis Vuitton Presents “LV/MJ: Olivier Zahm Diary” | A Film by Olivier Zahm

Louis Vuitton presents “LV/MJ: Olivier Zahm Diary”, a short film by Purple Magazine editor-in-chief Olivier Zahm documenting the last day of Paris Fashion Week –7th March 2012 to be exact. Created for New, Now, Louis Vuitton’s online magazine, the film is actually a parody of the trailer for Jean-Luc Godard’s 1963 film, Contempt or Le Mépris which starred Brigitte Bardot. This time Alice Aufrey takes over from Brigitte Bardot as the film sets off from the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2012/2013 fashion show and ends at the Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs exhibition. Definitely a classic in the making.

Check out the trailer of Contempt below to catch the link between the two videos.

Lara Stone | i-D Magazine Fall 2011

Lara Stone, i-D Magazine Fall 2011 cover, David Bailey

Lara Stone fronts the i-D Magazine Fall 2011 edition, The Dreams and Aspirations Issue. Shot by David Bailey, Lara Stone appears in several fantasies wearing Jean Paul Gaultier, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Jeremy Scott and Junya Watanabe among others for the i-D Magazine Fall 2011 editorial.

And that is exactly what editorials and ad campaigns sell, dreams and fantasies, however controversial they may seem. Certain lines have to be drawn of course but most of the time, we as consumers should learn to lighten up a little. They say fashion has no boundaries. Check out the rest of the Lara Stone for i-D Magazine Fall 2011 editorial below.

This is not the first time Arizona Muse and Freja Beha Erichsen are pairing up together, in fact they have done so on numerous occasions and I can’t think of any other duo that could top this pair.

Hedi Slimane photographed Sasha Pivovarova for an editorial spread titled Tough Love for Vogue Japan August 2011, styled by Mika Mizutani. Characteristic of Hedi Slimane, Sasha Pivovarova was shot in mostly black and white imagery donning soon-to-be-released Fall 2011 collections from the likes of Louis Vuitton, Azzedine Alaia, Gucci, Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, Balenciaga and Haider Ackermann among others.

I don’t know if I will ever get bored with Hedi Slimane’s style and his mostly blonde subjects like Sasha Pivovarova here. Till then, while we wait for his return to fashion design, let’s indulge for now, shall we?

With the stunning photo of Emma Watson by Mario Testino on the cover of Vogue US July 2011 on everyone’s lips, I would like to divert your attention to a beautiful and captivating film noir inspired editorial within the pages of that very issue. This editorial features Lara Stone in the leading role and Frida Gustavsson in fall’s latest collections accompanied by actor Alexander Skarsgard. Styled by Grace Coddington, a subtle melodramatic story of a femme fatale entitled Spellbound is told through the lens of Peter Lindbergh with significant usage of low-key lighting. Enjoy!

Glad that they included a black and white photo, it wouldn’t be film noir without it. And I think I might just know what I want to do for my next collection for school. Love the calm grandeur and Lara’s alluring gaze. Kudos to the team for going one up; a perfect complement to the cover.
